WCCO-TV is the CBS affiliate in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The station is owned by the CBS Television Stations subsidiary of CBS Corporation. WCCO-TV’s studios are located on South Second Street in downtown Minneapolis, and its transmitter is based at the Telefarm site in Shoreview, Minnesota.

WCCO-TV first signed on the air on July 15, 1949, as WLOL-TV. It was the third television station in Minneapolis – after KSTP-TV (channel 5) and WTCN-TV (channel 11, now KARE). The station was originally owned by a consortium that included the Star Tribune newspaper (then known as the Minneapolis Star) and Metropolitan Broadcasting Corporation (which would eventually merge with NBC).
